Alloy 17-4 PH / 1.4542

17-4PH is a well-established precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel capable of achieving very high strength and hardness after a relatively simple heat treatment. It offers excellent corrosion resistance combined with a structured range of mechanical property levels depending on the precise heat treatment applied.

The materials can be readily machined and fabricated in the softer tempers and can then be heat-treated to exceptional strength and dimensional stability. 17-4PH is widely used in the chemical, petrochemical, offshore, paper, and aerospace industries making best use of its outstanding corrosion resistance, wear resistance, strength and hardness.
